Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
The hotel provides a cozy and welcoming stay with very clean rooms, friendly staff, and a convenient location near Balboa Park. However, the rooms are on the smaller side and the AC units can be noisy at times.
My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The room was a bit small and the car park was tiny, but all the necessary amenities were available and the breakfast, though minimal, was well-served. Unfortunately, the rainy weather dampened our plans during the visit. The staff was incredibly helpful, providing directions and recommending sightseeing spots.
I stayed at this hotel and found it to be a mixed experience. The location is excellent, close to Balboa Park and the Gas Lamp Quarter, with a nice garden feel and rooftop seating area. However, safety could be a concern at night for walking around. The breakfast was a step up from the continental option, offering a decent selection, but the dining area felt congested.
When we arrived, the rooms looked much bigger in the pictures, but in reality, they were on the small side, a bit cramped and tired-looking. Despite that, the service was incredibly nice and accommodating, from the friendly office management to the dedicated housekeeping staff. The location was perfect, nestled between Balboa Park and the Gaslamp Quarter, offering a lovely garden feel with rooftop seating. However, the dining experience was just OK in their congested dining room. Overall, a decent stay with some minor drawbacks.
